Strategic transformation for greater impact

Dear

When Globethics launched its new Strategy in 2023, the winds were already blowing in unusual directions. The world was still reeling from a devastating pandemic and facing a growing number of complex and protracted conflicts. In response, we chose agility: adapting both our structure and our offer for ethical leadership to better meet emerging challenges and needs.

Since then, the situation has become even more precarious, threatening the very existence of many international organisations and their irreplaceable services, largely due to an unprecedented decrease in funding for humanitarian and development work.

In this context, we redefined our mission to: “Empowering individuals and institutions towards excellence in responsible governance.” Striving for excellence in responsible governance may today feel like navigating against the current. It might be, but we believe the future of humanity depends on our ability to resist the distorted use of power – whether political, economic, or ideological – for narrow and conflicting interests.

To support this renewed purpose, we are entering a new phase in the life of Globethics. This phase calls for an adapted structure and a refined offer, presented through three interconnected Hubs:

  • Knowledge Hub: Research, Publications, Information, and Documentation Services
  • Engagement Hub: Convening, Networking, and Thought Leadership
  • Solutions Hub: Consulting and Capacity-Building

In the face of the storm, we must maximise our resources with efficiency and intentionality. Our work must be solution-oriented – contributing not only to understanding the world’s ethical challenges but actively helping to resolve them.

This transformation also includes changes within our team. We bid farewell to three esteemed colleagues – Lucy Howe-López, Amélé Ekué, and Manasa Britto – to whom Globethics is deeply grateful for their dedication and the valuable contributions they made to the growth and mission of the organisation.

Their legacy continues to inspire our journey forward.

This is a moment of transformation towards deeper, more impactful engagement. It is a call to action for the entire Globethics network. We invite all partners, stakeholders, and friends to gather their strengths and contribute to the co-creation of ethical leadership for a just, inclusive, and sustainable world.

Church Integrity Systems: A Handbook

A key factor is the persistent prevalence of corruption within many institutions. Restoring trust demands a steadfast commitment to integrity, transparency, responsibility, and accountability.
