Welcome new Board Members

We are delighted to welcome five distinguished leaders elected to Globethics’ Board of Foundation at its April meeting. As the Foundation’s supreme governing body, the Board ensures that Globethics’ mission is pursued with integrity, effectiveness, and global relevance.

From 1 May 2026, we warmly welcome Emilija Stojmenova Duh (Slovenia), Lawrence Chong (Singapore), and Paul Martens (USA) as new Board Members. Their collective expertise spans digital transformation and AI ethics, values‑driven economic innovation and interfaith dialogue, and global and Christian ethics in leadership, peace, and human dignity.

We also welcome Rachel Adams (UK) and María José (Majo) Murcia (Argentina), who will join the Board as Members on 1 January 2027 and will support us with their expertise as Board Advisors throughout 2026. Their work in AI governance, global inequality, sustainability, and social innovation brings vital perspectives from the Global South and international policy arenas.

Together, these new members significantly strengthen the Board’s breadth of expertise and geographic diversity, reinforcing Globethics’ commitment to ethical leadership, inclusive knowledge, and responsible transformation worldwide.

God, the emperor, the pope, and democracy – offering a counter-narrative to sovereign power

Rudolf von Sinner, Professor in Theology and in Human Rights and Public Policies at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná in Curitiba, Brazil, a Lutheran pastor, and a member of the Globethics Board of Foundation. April 2026.

In his blog, Rudolph von Sinner reflects on the legacy of the Nicene Creed to explore contrasting models of sovereignty in today’s world. Drawing on theological ethics and contemporary leadership examples, he examines how power is exercised—either through domination or through solidarity, restraint, and service—and argues for a vision of sovereignty grounded in justice, peace, and shared responsibility.
